EHCP Activity Time
EHCP Activity Time
Each day, every class takes part in a half‑hour of “EHCP Activity Time,” where pupils work on areas commonly identified within Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
These sessions are designed around the shared needs often seen across our pupils, such as communication, sensory regulation, physical development, social skills, emotional wellbeing, and readiness for learning.
During this time, staff deliver a range of structured activities recommended by professionals—such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists—to help strengthen these key areas of development.
Sessions may include social skills groups, fine‑ and gross‑motor activities, sensory‑motor tasks, wellbeing routines, group interaction work, and other supportive programmes suited to the class profile.
EHCP Activity Time provides:
- Daily, consistent practice in areas typically highlighted in EHCPs
- A routine that supports whole‑class development across shared needs
- Activities informed by professional guidance, delivered in an accessible way
- Opportunities for pupils to grow skills that support learning, independence and wellbeing
- A calm, structured start or pause in the day, helping children feel settled and ready
This dedicated time ensures that every child receives regular support in the key areas that help them thrive, while still learning alongside their peers in a familiar, nurturing environment.
